Aargh!!! (Please take a deep breath and let it out slowly)
It’s OK to be angry (or even hateful) sometimes. Everyone gets angry from
time to time; it’s part of being human. Most people who are in your type of
situation tend to get angry too so you’re certainly not alone. I want you to
go ahead and be angry for as long as you want to be while you to continue
to chat with me. Please don’t do anything about your situation while you’re
angry other than continue to chat with me. If you decide to stop chatting
with me, please count to 10 or something before you deal with your
situation.
Anger is a good thing when you're in a situation where you need to
physically fight for your survival. In virtually every other situation, being
angry can often lead you into doing something destructive which doesn't
really get you what you want out of life. Under the appropriate
circumstances however, being angry can provide you with enough energy to
continue to grow as a person so that eventually you can get what you want
out of life. Before you make any decisions about how to respond to the
situation that has "made you angry", it's a good idea to find a way to change
your mind and decide to be courageous rather than angry. Just imagine it
for a moment. Being courageous means doing the "right" thing even if you
still feel a little angry, afraid, etc. By the way, you can also be proud of
yourself that you are still chatting with me rather than taking out your anger
on yourself or someone you care about.
But as always, the choice about where you go from here is up to you.
So what would you like to chat about now?
