Hooah!

Being proud of yourself is basically a good thing.  A sense of self-worth is
very important in order for you to get what you want out of life.  But there’s
a problem with pride:  it tends to create blind spots when people look at
themselves.  So when a person is proud, they can see everyone’s flaws but
their own.  They often get blindsided because they were “too proud” to listen
to a friend’s advice.  Or perhaps they are too proud to let go of their own
beliefs; even when they obviously aren't working.  Trying to be right all the
time is a good survival skill.  In terms of physical survival, being wrong can
get you killed.  But in the modern world, not being able to see flaws in
yourself will eventually lead to bad decisions which will bring you down.
That's why “pride goes before a fall”.

Before you deal with the situations in your life, it's a good idea to become
courageous enough to do the "right" thing.  It's OK to be proud.  But it's
better to be courageous.

But as always, the choice about where you go from here is up to you.
